Poison Ivy 101

I've always had the hardest time knowing for sure when I see poison ivy. Well, not anymore! I received lessons on poison ivy over the weekend, & I will carry these pictures with me everywhere.

Caution: some of you might get poison ivy just from looking at these pictures...Oops, too late! Posted by Picasa

Gee, thanks. Florida doesn't seem to have poison ivy so you enable me to aquire it via internet. What a deal!

Well, I've been told FL has poison oak, but I don't know what that looks like. But wildlife in FL isn't totally boring. Bob has seen two snakes in the yard, and we're being inundated with love-bugs (engineered here in Florida from ladybugs, Loni tells me) and we've killed a roach in the house. And the lizards -- too cute! (At least while they're outside. One comes inside and I may change my mind!!)

Anyway, thanks for the poison ivy reminder. As you'll recall, I've had my run-ins, enough that I can spot the stuff along the highway as we zip by at 60mph. And on distant hillsides, and on trees. I can even identify the fuzzy roots! (Don't touch those either!! Even when the vines appear dormant in the winter, no leaves, they'll still get ya! Watch out!)

Ah yes, I was shown the fuzzy roots & told to avoid those at all costs too! I took a picture of that as well, but when I ran out of memory, that was one of the pictures to go so I could squeeze in the rest. Dan was making fun of me for taking pictures of PI in the first place, so I figured I could do without one of them.
