Paula is ready for us to take her survey on Christians and Depression. She is going to write an article for Christian Woman and wants to know how members of the church of Christ view depression. Paula writes:

Trey Morgan has been named Man of the Year in Childress, Texas. Apparently his town makes a big deal of choosing someone that has affected their community positively. Congratulations, Trey! (He's gonna be sooo embarrassed that I did that. :) )
Well, I'm about to take the plunge. I am going to be switching over to wordpress.com, I think, as soon as I figure out everything I want to about it. If you want to see what it looks like so far, you can go to lisaleichner.wordpress.com. I'll let you know when I make the official switch. I know it will be inconvenient to many of you who will have to edit your favorites lists and blogrolls. I'm sorry for that!

So why the switch? Is wordpress like blogger in that there is no charge? What's the difference?

Dee (as in Channing?), no charge, I sometimes get frustrated with some small things that I'm looking to see if they will be easier with wordpress. We'll see, and I'll let you know. It's not definite yet.

Dee, I also just discovered that wordpress does its own stats, so i don't have to have stat counter or sitemeter. it actually seems a bit simpler too, so i'm looking forward to that. so far, the only thing i think seems more difficult is uploading pics. i've always had a hard time with that, because my computer is slow, but i hoped it would get better with wordpress.
Brian .. you're killing me. Small town? You figuared it out...there are actually only two men in Childress. And the other guy won the last 5 years in a row. :)

I do feel a bit of a traitor, but so far I'm just experimenting. It was VERY easy to move all my posts over, even the comments went over! You should go check it out.

Actually what REALLY happend is as soon as they called my name, I jumped up on the table in my suit grabbed this huge bottle of champaign and shook it and sprayed it on everyone in the room. Just like a NASCAR celebration.

Enjoyed the president quiz. Bombed it! I think that your word press looks great. I have heard some complaints about photos not uploading very well. I know that blogger is overloaded to it seems to be the blog of choice right now for new blogs. If you change over you will have to let us know what you think.

wordpress rules!!
and you can get your own domain if you pay for it. check with theobloggers, you have to pay more with them but you get tech support. they are good.
transferring is a snap, unless you are using the newer blogger, I hear that is tough, but old blogger transfers everything in minutes

Monica, that is actually what I'm having trouble with, the photos. If I can't get pictures on very easily, then there's no point in me going over there because I want to post lots of pics of the kids.
Bevin, you actually beat me. I only got 2. I wonder if the quiz changes each time. I think I'm gonna try again. Maybe I'll do better. :)
Brian, quit spreading rumors. I actually had no problem transferring everything over, and I have the new blogger. Like I was telling Monica, so far the ONLY thing I've had a hard time with (besides learning a new system) is the pictures. (I guess I could just do what you do & email them to everyone instead. :) ) Oh yeah, wordpress also transforms my :)'s into the real emoticon thingys.
I actually am with you on stat counter, Brain. The only thing I've used it for lately is to see if people are coming over from a search on google, out of curiosity. But I've already noticed 2 google searches on wordpress that didn't show up on statcounter, so I'm thinking it wasn't working all that great anyway. But, what I'm with you on is not trying to track your hits & such. It has become my vanity, and I need to ignore that side of me. I thought about bragging about my highest day of hits so far, then it "hit" me that I need to be focusing on something else. I look forward to your post on it, if you do one.
