I do not like questions that begin with

"What's your favorite . . . ?" i.e., "What's your favorite food?" "What's your favorite movie?" Some people might be able to answer those questions definitively, but not me! I have a hard time picking a favorite anything. I might be able to answer generally, "I really like action films that have romance in them," or "I like Italian food . . . and Mexican . . . and just about everything my Mom cooked when I was growing up."

Having said that, I love to hear what other people's answers are to those questions. I like to know what your favorite candy bar is so that when I want to send you something special, I can pick it up & you know that I know something about you, & that makes you feel good. I like to know that we like the same kind of movies, or that you & I would both cry while reading the same book.

I have noticed on other people's blogs that sometimes they post polls/surveys. They have a list of questions that you post a comment to answer. I have a lot of fun seeing what others say to those, so I'm going to try it. I'm going to feel real idiotic, though, if NO ONE responds. Will you do me a favor? I promise to keep it short & light (no deep questions) if you will please please please respond!! I actually have a goal to make this the most-responded-to post yet (I think that means I need 7 comments). The lucky #7 commenter will win a prize! (I'm not telling what the prize is yet) I'm actually going to help y'all out by posting my answers as the first comment (so, see? We only need 6 more! But if you happen to be the 8th commenter, don't hesitate to buzz in too!)

Okay, here's the survey (thanks in advance for your participation!!):

1. What type of movie do you most enjoy watching?
2. What is the last song you remember listening to?
3. What one thing most drives you absolutely crazy??
4. If your house was on fire, what 3 things would you NEED to bring with you? (for our purposes, children, pets, & spouses do not have to be included)
5. What's your middle name?
6. What's your favorite candy bar? :)

Bonus question to answer if you want to: What is your favorite Christmas memory?

Only 6 questions (plus an optional one)--that's not so bad! You can do it!

1. Type of movie: action film with romance mixed in (or I could do without the action & just get to the love story)
2. Last song I heard: Blue's Clues theme song.
3. Drives me crazy: the cat or cats that use my flower bed as a litter box, and the fact that my youngest son wakes up from his nap WAY TOO EARLY & then is cranky the rest of the day (it's a tie).
4. 3 things I'd get if my house were on fire: I think I'd be too crazy to actually think of it, but I'd like to think I'd get my file with our important documents in it, my purse/wallet, & some pants.
5. Lynnae (and I love it! Thanks, Mom!)
6. Favorite candy bar: Butterfingers (I have sentimental attachment to the original, but I like ButterfingerCrisp ever better)

You do realize that we all want others to comment first so that we will be #7! But okay, here goes:
1. Type of movie - romance with some action, but a romance without a bedroom scene is best!
2. Last song - something on the Christian radio station, I'm sure, but don't remember which one.
3. Drives me crazy - Florida heat!
4. 3 things I'd get if house was on fire - my purse, my prayer journals (can that count as one? they're mostly in a stack together), the computer (I'm not organized enough yet to have all my pictures backed up on disks! I think I'll work on keeping that up to date!)
5. Middle name - Lucile. I'm so glad you like yours, Lynnae. I kind of wish I'd used it as your first name, but you are so Lisa now! Maybe you, Loni, or Trey will use it for a daughter . . . .
6. Candy bar - almost a tie between Milky Way Midnight, a Hershey bar, and plain M&Ms (does that count as a bar?).

Bonus question - favorite Christmas memory - (hey! what's yours?!) they kind of meld together so I'll say favorite Christmas tradition - taking turns unwrapping gifts, starting with the youngest and each watching the others.

Fine, I'll be #5 and let someone else win the prize :)

#1 - I probably enjoy watching "chick flicks" the most :)

#2 - I can't quite remember the last song that I listened to. It was probably either a Johnny Cash song or a Vacation Bible School song (the kids love to listen to our VBS cd!!) or maybe it was Brady singing "Do Re Mi" (he is learning that song in music).

#3 - A messy house drives me absolutely bonkers!! My house, unfortunatley, is currently a mess!!

#4 - My family would be all I needed. Pictures and money might be nice to bring along, too.

#5 - My middle name is Michelle.

#6 - My favorite candy bar was Snickers until Take 5 was created - WAY YUM!

My favorite Christmas memory is probably the ones that I am creating now with my children. It is truly priceless!

OK, this comment does not count.

I don't necessarily have one favorite Christmas memory, although the most vivid one is of my grandfather bringing out a rocking horse he had made for my sister & me--the rocking horse is now in Derek's room, & he loves it! I also really love all the different traditions Dan & I are starting, which is a combination of our favorite traditions from our childhood.

Also...
Dee, I'd like to hear more about your "stuck in Searcy" story.

Dad, do you have a favorite Christmas memory or tradition? When is your survey coming out?

Mom, thank you for not holding out on me trying to be #7!!

You too, Tanya! I had a feeling you'd say either Johnny Cash or a kid's song. And, I am eating a Take5 as I'm typing this! I love those too!

Loni's List

1. I love to watch romantic comedies!
2. The last song that I heard was "Glory Defined" by Building 429. You get to listen to lots of music when you have a 50 minute drive to work/school each day!!!
3. The thing that drives me crazy the most is when my students ask me "Do we have to copy that down?" This being right after I have told them to take out their notebooks so we can take notes!!
4. The 3 things I would probably get from the house would be my purse, laptop & my lesson plan book (because if I had to redo all those lesson plans I would have a cow!)
5. My middle name is Jeann. I love it because I am named after both of my grandmothers and it is a compromise on the spelling. Jeanne & Jean.
6. How in the world do you choose only one candy bar? I would have to say almost anything chocolate. My current addiction is Twix (caramel), but I also love Snickers & good ol' Hershey bars (sometimes with almonds).

Bonus - I don't know if I have one favorite Christmas memory, but I do have a vivid memory from when we were living in Randolph, NJ. The 3 of us kids were sleeping in Trey's room that night (no idea why.) I just remember being so excited that I couldn't sleep. Then it was fun to wake up in the morning & the 3 of us would be up at the top of the stairs, waiting impatiently to run downstairs & see what "Santa" left for us. I also remember Lisa telling me that "Santa" was really MOM! She said she knew because "Santa's" handwriting was the same as Mom's! I think it was a toy vaccum that she pointed it out on!!

Hope you enjoyed reading the list Lisa. I haven't had a chance to get on and see your blog recently, so I am playing catch up. It sounds like you have some interesting things going on!

My favorite Christmas memory is going to get the tree. We'd get up on a Saturday. I'd make hot chocolate. We'd drive out to PA. Along the way we'd count the cars coming back with trees. We'd arrive and start the search. It was different every year. Some years we'd find a tree right away, some years we'd argue like crazy, some years it was cold, some it was rainy, some it was semi-warm. I really enjoyed your Mom's excitement about the day. I miss that day, especially now that we are in Florida.
